On Februay 22th, followers of Tibetan Buddhism in India, Tibet, Mongolia, Bhutan, Nepal abd around the world will celebrate the lunar new year (Losar). Losar with great festivities.  To prepare, they clean their houses, assemble new clothes, and make special meals and cookies (khapsey).  On the first day, families engage in spiritual practice, praying in the monasteries and temples, and receiving blessings from the lamas. The second day is family day, in which all family members enjoy special meals together and relax and play games.  On the third day, for the succes of dharma practice, good luck and prosperity in the coming year, people make special prayers for dharma protector for protectio, receives blessings and install new prayer flags in the five colors of the elements – blue, white, red, green and yellow, which flying in the wind, send out prayers in all directions. They also perform the grand purification of a smoke offering, to purify the cosmic energy and the environment.

We offer delicious meals cooked by the monks and music concert by our students.  All are welcome and its free. RSVP is requested by email: dgtloffice@yahoo.com
