DGTL Monastery serves as a community resource for studies of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and culture.
In addition to weekly dharma classes in Bloomington, Indiana and
Cincinnati,Ohio the monks offer a variety of programs for interested
groups in the region, including (but not limited to):
- Lectures on central concepts in Buddhist philosophy (love and compassion, impermanance, interdependance, and other topics),
- public construction of sacred sand mandalas, and
- the "Taste of Tibet", a feast of traditional Tibetan delicacies.
The monastery's formal programs are aimed at a
variety of audiences, including universities, schools, and religious
organizations, and other groups. Over a period of time, DGTL monks have
visited Indiana University, Ball State University, Northern Kentucky
University, Dayton University, 7 Hills Schools, Country Day School, and
etc.
